French Beauty Secrets I Swear By

It’s no secret that I’m an Italian girl obsessed with the French way of life, but what I love most about the French is their flawless beauty secrets!

There is something quite impossibly effortless when it comes to the French women, their minimal makeup, their flawless skin and overall that happy girl glow that just seems to kinda ooze out of them.

French Tips I Swear By

1. Be A Makeup Minimalist

Have you ever seen a French woman covered in a lot of makeup? Nope, neither have I and that’s because the French like to keep their face looking fresh and clean which I think actually makes you look a little younger! I like to choose one feature on my face to focus on, which could be a red lip Or kohl-Lined eyes! I don’t like to wear them both together but I normally choose red lips at the weekend and kohl-lined eyes for the super busy week!

2. Put Fragrance On Everywhere!

I always Spritz it on my clothes, before I go to bed, no everything will smell divine! I’ve been doing a lot of research on French beauty and reading a lot of my French books and the one thing a lot of French women do, they like to spray a handkerchief with their perfume and place it in their bags! The scent never leaves them and it’s a great way for that signature smell to stick around!

3.Eat Beautiful

I have to admit since breastfeeding my diet has been atrocious! I eat a lot of cakes and sweet things and drink just a little too much coffee! Now that I’ve finally almost stopped, I’ve noticed my cravings have! Eating a lot of refined sugar on a daily basis never made me feel good, and over the last two weeks I’ve done what the French do and that’s to indulge on a weekly Friday treat only, where I have a little sugar and coffee! And you know what, I feel so much better for it and if I feel good then I look good!

4. Show Your Hair Some TLC

If you talk to any French beauty addict, they will tell you the one rule when it comes to your hair! The Trick- find a perfect leave in conditioner and let it work it’s magic! I’ve just booked in a glossy treatment which takes about one hour, and it’s a great way to treat your hair and restore shine! Visit your local hairdressers for an appointment!

5. Take extra time For Your Skin

I’ve read so much about what the French put on their skin, and the one thing the majority like to do is just use water to wash their skin. No products, just good old simple water! Which is what I have been doing for years. I then apply some good French products such as Darphin ( mentioned in my last beauty post here) that helps enhance and restore my skins glow!

6.Drink Lots of Water

Water is packed with goodness such as calcium, magnesium and potassium just to name a few! I carry round a bottle of water all day and try to aim drinking at least 1litre a day! It’s great to help maintain a healthy skin!

7. Accept Imperfections And Embrace Them!

Finally what I love most about the French, is their attitude! The Attitude that accepts imperfections and embraces them as opposed to looking like every other single person! This kind of attitude exudes self confidence and that’s perhaps the best kept beauty secret every French woman swears by!

Now I hear the Koreans are changing and shaping the beauty market and I can’t wait to try out there best kept secrets!

These amazing tips. I know it takes a lot of research to state them and you have done it and simplify it for us, thanks so much.

If you breastfeeding maybe try to include natural sugars instead of processed ones, you do not want to stop them all together.
