How to invest in your future self

I’ve come to realise just how important it is to invest in future self not just for me but for my kids too. If I talk in my husbands investment terms for automatic income, investing in yourself is probably the best return you can have. But in order to invest in yourself there are a few tips I swear by that help me and today I’m going to share a few of them for you.

Always write everything down

As blogger and as a mum, my brain is always thinking. Even if I’m sleeping I find that I’m thinking of something whether it’s planning a new bathroom at our new home or organising the boys weekly meals to “what the hell am I going to wear to this week’s event” my most important tip is to write everything down. Writing things down either on paper or even on your phone, it’s a great way to recall things and helps you stay organised. I have a notebook by the side of my bed as I find a lot of my ideas come when I’m sleeping and I like to make sure that I’ve captured these down! I also carry one in my bag whilst I’m out and on the go as you never know when you might have something pop into your head! I find If you jot things down and plan your actions you will find your work and life flow a little more efficient.

Surround yourself with inspiration

I might have a load of magazine subscriptions but for me reading through these “cult bibles” as I call them is where I get my most inspiration. I’m constantly tearing at different pages of magazines for my mood book/board and find that this is what inspires me the most and fuels me to work super hard at what I do. Magazines may be costly so you could always use Pinterest (here) however sometimes I think a nice break from the digital world is why I prefer to read magazines. I also think the most important thing is to also surround yourself with people that inspire you, as this makes me super happy and keeps me motivated!

Choose to be happy

I believe that happiness is a choice, and it’s a choice that everyone gets to make. Happy people choose to focus on the positive aspects of life and not the negative. I like to look at reasons to be super grateful for and this helps me especially when the going gets tough or when I’m really ill with my crohnes disease I like to stay focused on just how grateful I am for life. Positivity  is contagious and if you surround yourself with it you will be surprised just how motivational this can be.

Declutter

If you know me, you know how much I love to be super organised. I find that I need a clean open space to be able to work and to get my creative mind thinking. I love to ensure that there’s a place for everything and anything so make sure you get organising. Declutter your space for a clear open mind, it’s as simple as that.

Investing in yourself emotionally, physically and creatively will allow you to become the best version of yourself. I’d love to know what kinda tips you guys have that helps invest in you to invest in yourself, so why not drop me a comment?

Loving this type of post from you. I think you should include more, I like your thought process and wanted to share you mine.

I always find that having the right people surround you is my most important and ones most valuable criteria in fulfilling investment in your own self.

If you don’t have the right support and the right people around you it can effect what you mentioned above in terms of positivity.

That’s my little tip, and love the artistic take on photos

Thankyou for this. I struggle on a day to day basis doing something that I don’t want to do nessvarily just trying to make ends meet and I’m fortunate to be in a position where I have no dependants and you motivate me and inspire me to do what I really want to do. Thankyou for this, inspiring and a much needed read.

Hi, will you be doing any more of your lifestyle posts? I would love to hear how you motivate yourself. I find I lack this 95% of the time and with kids it’s just not how it use to be! No idea how you do it with two so would love a little write up!
