I’m a huge believer in self-love, which for me means taking care of myself or in your case “your self”! As a mum of two under 3, it’s safe to say my life is hectic and my schedule is super busy and living with a chronic disease such as Crohns Disease every day is super hard, so It’s so important for me to maximise any opportunity I get to pamper myself and give myself a little TLC which doesn’t come too often now that I’m a mother!
And there’s a few ways that I wanted to share with you in this lifestyle post to treat yourself like a straight up queen!
1. Call someone
Today’s world is a digital world and everyone seems to be walking around with their heads buried in their phone or iPad’s, so why not give someone a call! Pick up that phone and talk or better off arrange a coffee date and have that face to face communication I think everyone is missing!
2. Take A Bath
From head to toe exfoliate your body with a pumice stone. There’s something about taking a warm bath that immediately relaxes my mind and body and there’s nothing I love more than exfoliating and getting rid to all that dead skin!
3. Mask it Up
Now that you have taken that long awaited bath mask the hell up! I’ve been using This Works (coming up this week) evening detox and it’s the best face mask I have come across! Your body will love this and the feeling of super soft skin, well there’s nothing better than the feeling the best in your own skin?
4. Netflix Binge
Have a day of doing absolutely nothing, zilch, zero- a I’m not even going to get dressed kind of day and just relax, eat and binge on your favourite box set! When my Crohns kicks in and I literally can’t leave the house I happily watch The Affair, back to back! It’s my favourite at the moment.
5. Write EVERYTHING down on all the things you love about yourself!
Practice self-affirmation and write down all the qualities that make you uniquely you! This is SO important for me and when it comes to comparing yourself to a stranger or someone you admire remember why you are you and no one else is!
6. Buy that THING you have had saved on your wish list for a few months!
7. Sleep
This is the one thing I’m finally getting better at, thanks to REN sleeping pillow spray (here). I like to light my new Lelabo scented candle (here) that Wallis gifted me and turning my mobile onto airplane mode whilst reading a good book like Alexa Chung to inspire me and get me ready for a new day.
8. Lastly, do whatever the F you want!
If it makes you happy, if it makes you feel good, and it doesn’t hurt anyone then you go do you!
