Nothing says festive holidays like velvet, it’s the time of year where wearing head to toe (not to mention also our wrapping ribbon for presents) velvet is totally acceptable. What I love about it is, just how super luxurious the fabric is. It’s the kind where you pop it on and feel a gazillion bucks, right?
I wanted to show you how you can wear velvet for the party season super easy and have teamed up with Wallis to show you. Instead of your cliche sparkles and sequins I wanted to try something different, like this velvet dress which looks far more expensive that it does which is what I love about velvet. Here I’m wearing the emerald green (favourite colour over the holiday season) maxi velvet dress which is perfect for that New Year’s Eve party you’ve had in your diary for the last few months. It’s super stretchy material means there’s plenty of room to have a dance in as well as eating your heart out! The dress is long sleeved and has a side split to offer a little sassiness for you without overdoing it. I think this dress looks super expensive if you let it hang loosely instead of clinging onto you so you may just want to go a size up.
I’ve styled this statement dress (here and now in the sale for under £40.00) with Wallis’s metallic heels (here) which offsets the dress and pulls the look together. You can wear the shoes two ways. So you can wear them as your pretty Jane shoes for the office and take off the straps for the ultimate killer pointer court shoes for the evening. I’ve kept jewellery to a minimum by only wearing my new daisy London rings (here) as the dress is a powerful statement there was no need to over-do it. I love this time of year it’s where you can wear tons of sparkle, tons of velvet and tons of metallic and it’s totally acceptable!
From us at Hues of White we wanted to wish you a super happy and peaceful holiday with all your loved ones and thankyou so much for all your kind comments and support over the last two years.
