The Lockdown Edit- Stay at Home and try these 8 things to do

Here a Casa Mia, we have been filling out our days with as much fun, work and some form of activity to keep us entertained and our minds ticking! Take a look below at some of these things to do if you have kids at home or just some you time! Hoping you are all staying safe and healthy, and sending lots of love your way.

1. Read a book

How about that book on your shelf you haven’t got round to reading yet because life has been beyond busy? Reading a book soothes the soul as they say and helps keep your mind ticking and helps take you somewhere else without leaving home.

2. Paint

For me I love painting, it’s a great way to express yourself creatively and you can do this from your own home without leaving! If you haven’t got paint then you can easily order from Amazon like I did here for this little creation which we then framed and the best kind of paint to use would be Reeves.

3. Practice and preach that self-care

Ever wanted that 5 minute extra in the morning or the evening before bed to practice that self-care love you have preached about, well now you got it! I’ve been spending 1hour in the day (30minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening) just focusing on creating a self like spa at home to indulge myself in and I started with my new Chanel Lelift eye patches! My husband bought me a new laptop and these patches for my “push present” you could say and it’s the two best gifts yet!

4. Try something new- Make Homemade Bread

A great little thing to learn and to even include the kids to help you and get involved with… making homemade bread! It’s much easier than you would think and nothing tastes better than a homemade piece of bread, right?! Or if making bread isn’t your thing then how about some baking (lemon drizzle, chocolate fudge cake ?!) to occupy your time and enhance those cooking skills!

5. Home Makeovers

Now that you are actually staying home for all day, are you noticing home improvements that could be easily made?! I’m a huge interior enthusiast and always looking for ways to incorporate my style and now is a great time to give your home the makeover it deserves!

6. Dress up and take a selfie

If there’s one thing that motivates me more than anything it’s to get up and get dressed! Forget putting a face full on makeup as long as I’m dressed and feeling good then I know I’ve “got this!” For the rest of the day and is a great mood booster especially as we have warmer and sunnier days!

7. Workout

Honestly I’ve never ever been to a gym! But staying at home during lockdown I’ve realised I need to do some form of a workout and We’ve been doing it as a family to Joe Wicks (here) every morning and my boys love it! Its a great way to interact together, so something fun and keep fit and healthy!

8. Watch all the series you have been wanting to watch!

Now is the perfect chance to spend your evenings catching up on those series you have wanted to watch for so long! We have been watching Netflix and amazon together and it’s been really nice to relax in the evening at home together! Here’s what we have been watching!
